GHz/SMATV | OUTDOOR RECEIVERS
The
AML Wireless Systems receiver converts microwave signals to VHF signals
at cable television distribution hubs. These receivers serve as complete
multi-channel headends when used in conjunction with an AML Wireless System
transmitter.
The compact outdoor receiver AGC thresholds are set for 56 dB C/N,
yet can be reset if improved performance is required. Receiver outputs
are used to drive the cable plant directly without remodulation. The complete
microwave input spectrum is block downconverted to the identical VHF channel
assignments present at the headend transmitter. The phaselock receiver
can incorporate both microwave and VHF AGC circuits and is optimized for
operation with a Low Noise Amplifier (LNA). The downconverted local oscillator's
frequency reference is phaselocked to an incoming pilot tone to eliminate
frequency drift.
