Custom Applications

A
ML Wireless has directed its market success towards specific (custom) applications for Governments and Universities. Examples include:

  • Advanced Ground Traffic Monitoring ( Las Vegas , United States )
  • Court Arraignment ( Florida , United States )
  • Security (Video) Monitoring ( South America )
  • Campus Connector networks ( New York , United States)

Advanced Ground Traffic Monitoring Solution

LVACTS, a division of the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) had a serious dilemma on its hands.  The fastest growing city in the USA had to deal with an increase in traffic flow due to its expanding population and vast tourism operations.  The ultimate goal was to have a regional traffic management center (TMC) that could coordinate traffic flow, traveler information and incident management.  All of this was required to be completed with minimal disruption to community businesses and travelers.  The solution, a highly reliable microwave network designed and installed by AML Wireless, was installed in less than 6 hours per hub site resulting in minimal impact to automobile traffic flow.

Using state of the art analog and digital boxes, a microwave network that integrates with cable and fiber technologies was developed.  Using transmission equipment in 18 and 13 GHz bandwidths, transmitters and receivers along with numerous modulators, demodulators and modems were installed to provide a video and data transmission network that operates at a rate in excess of 99.99 percent reliability.  Based on VSBAM transmission, the microwave radios currently transport 27 channels of real time video, and 22 T-1 data channels using QPSK digital modulation.  The system was designed using a ring topology focusing 10 zones throughout the greater Las Vegas area to provide a trunking network to pick up signals from over 60 digital cameras and numerous wireless data links.

Court Arraignment

AML Wireless Networks makes remote-arraignment possible via state of art video communications networks linking the court systems with the prison facilities. This solution eliminates the risk of prisoners escaping while being transported, speeds up the arraignment process and significantly reduces time and costs associated with escorting a potentially dangerous criminal.

The systems are designed for providing video and audio signals over two-way microwave links. Multiple video streams can be transported between several sites. Through innovative microwave channel selection and network design, the number of licensed channels can be minimized.  Our solution transmits multiple video signals in each direction between the central administration site to multiple remote sites through bi-directional 13 GHz microwave links.

Security (Video) Monitoring

AML Wireless equipment has been effectively used in the deployment of video surveillance networks for security purposes.  Multiple video signals from monitored locations are combined and transmitted back to one or more security operations centers.  Solutions have been installed in and outside North America using 13 GHz equipment to transmit dozens of video signals to a centralized monitoring station.

Campus Connector Networks

AML Wireless 18 GHz equipment has been successfully deployed by University campuses in the U.S. to provide specialty cable TV service to dormitories and other buildings located throughout the campus.  Our wireless solution enables the provision of customized service even if the buildings are spread throughout a city.  For example, the system at one university serves at least 11 sites through a network of microwave transmitters, repeaters, and receivers.

AML Wireless Networks can custom build custom solutions for you which are highly reliable, quick to deploy, and economical. Contact us at: info@amlwireless.com to learn more about what we can do for you.
