AML Wireless Networks has designed a new SNMP Interface feature
which will allow our customers the ability to monitor the status
of their AML 13 GHz indoor transmitters using Simple Network Management
Protocol (SNMP). As SNMP is the universal standard for network monitoring,
our Interface will seamlessly integrate into any Network Management
System.
The SNMP Interface
allows you to monitor symptoms of failing devices or components
via the NMS before they break down and a service interruption occurs.
This will allow for proactive maintenance rather than costly urgent
repairs. In the unlikely event of a failure, the SNMP Interface will
help isolate potential problems by sending information (via an SNMP
trap) immediately to the central NMS. The SNMP Interface will log
device messages automatically giving you the ability to establish
a historical account of monitorables for troubleshooting or observing
trends. This historical view will indicate the root of any problems
that might be occurring. Again, this proactive approach will reduce
and even eliminate the costs and service impacts of reactive urgent
problem solving.
The SNMP Interface is
simple to install and operate. Monitoring can take place remotely
from any number of locations. Monitoring access is determined by set
up and network management software.

Monitorables
All parameters on the front
panel of the transmitters can be remotely monitored with traps for
critical alarms, including RF output level, oscillator status and
relevant voltages and currents.
Remotely monitor the status
and mode and control the mode and switch-over of the ATRS Control
Unit.
